Working with local communities to preserve Sinai’s heritage.

Sinaweya - meaning “the Sinai way” in Arabic, is founded with the intent of safeguarding Sinai’s natural ecosystems and local communities carrying the cultures birthed in Sinai’s unique nature-scapes. Bedouin culture and spirituality weave within a deep understanding of their environment - traditional knowledge pertaining to flora, fauna and natural cycles cultivated a spirit of conservation for survival. The land teaches and serves as their source of nutrition, building material, crafts and healing agents; all are rooted in cultural practices that are slowly disappearing with modern life patterns. Our respect for their wisdom and hopes to preserve it is a driving force behind Sinaweya’s inception and inspiration for a wide range of activities in collaboration with the local community.
